Benefits of Matcha for the skin

Did you know that matcha's properties can radically improve your skin? Here are some of them.

1. Matcha green tea can protect your skin from sun damage.
Most of us have suffered sunburn. Not only is it painful, but it can also cause serious long-term damage, such as premature aging and skin cancer. But what if we told you that drinking matcha or applying it to your skin like a great body lotion could help? It's true!
Research suggests that the powerful polyphenols in matcha green tea (also known as "catechins") have chemopreventive and photoprotective qualities (see scientific study). This means that drinking matcha or applying matcha directly to your skin can help you prevent skin disorders induced by UV light.
Keep in mind that it does not replace sunscreen, so if you are going to be exposed to the sun, don't forget to apply it.

2. Matcha green tea can help you prevent the effects of pollution.
Particulate pollution secretly floats in the air where we live, work and play. The types of particulate pollution vary depending on where you live: big cities are the worst, with all the vehicle exhaust, construction dust and other things floating around. One of the many benefits of matcha green tea is that it contains one of the most potent polyphenols ever: epigallocatechin gallate (let's call it EGCG for short!). EGCG works wonders against all kinds of pollutants that cause premature aging, inflammation and a whole host of other skin invaders and degraders.

3. Matcha green tea can help brighten your skin.
The incredible antioxidants found in matcha can shut down all kinds of inflammatory free radicals in our skin by attacking them at the cellular level. They work quickly to help stop breakouts before they start. And speaking of breakouts, matcha's tannins help shrink pores and reduce sebum production (the natural oily substance your skin produces that can cause pimples when pores get blocked).

Greenergy Matcha Face Mask!

Here is a homemade recipe for a super simple matcha mask:

You will need:
1 tablespoon of plain, full-fat, dairy-free yogurt rich in probiotics. Choose a brand with as many probiotics as you can find.
1 teaspoon of Greenergy Matcha.

Follow these steps:
1. Mix both ingredients and apply to your skin with a clean makeup brush.
2. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Just enough time to have some Greenergy Matcha and maybe do a little meditation!
3. Then remove the mask with a cloth soaked in warm water and soap. Resume your life with healthier, happier skin! Repeat this once or twice a week.

See you next time!
